Gameness Air Ultra Lightweight Jiu Jitsu Gi Review

Gameness Air Ultra Lightweight Jiu Jitsu Gi Review

Nothing says taking your BJJ lessons more seriously than investing in a good Gi.

Unfortunately, just because you want to buy a high-quality GI, that doesn’t mean that you’ll get one. The market is full of Gis that claim that they are better than the other. The problem? Most fail to deliver on their initial promises. Because of this, finding a good Gi is a lot more difficult than it seems.

With that said, we’re here to take a look at the Gameness Air Ultra Lightweight Jiu Jitsu Gi.

Is it good? Is it worth it? Is it the right Jiu-Jitsu Gi for you?

Material Features

One of the best things about the Gameness Air Gi is its weight. Or, rather, the lack thereof.

It’s not exactly weightless, but it’s so much lighter compared to other Gis out there. This is because of the quality of the material that it uses. The cotton-poly blend fabric, in particular, is thin yet strong and allows the gi to be folded so that, not only is it lightweight, but it’s also very compact to make it easier to carry to training and competitions.

Another side benefit of the lightweight material is that it makes it easier to wash and dry the gi

Also, one more benefit of the material is how breathable it is – this Gi is an excellent choice, especially in the summer months!

Design Features

For people who like to keep things simple, the Gameness Air Gi is an excellent choice.

Unlike other gis on the market, including gis sold by Gameness themselves, the Air is the only one that doesn’t seem to stand out as much nor does it have a chest patch. Although it does have a large shoulder patch, which is quite noticeable. The bold letters that write “Gameness Air” and a large “G” are hard not to notice.

If it’s any consolation, many have commented that Gameness could have done better to make the patch stand out more.

Either way, whether you like the patch or not, you can always remove it and add a patch of your own.

The gi is available in three different colors, all of which are compliant with the regulations set by the IBJJF. It comes in Blue, Black, and White.

Other notable features include a foam rubber inner on the durable color with a technical rope draw that has a 4-loop system for added pant security.

The Gameness Air Ultra Lightweight Jiu Jitsu Gi is the ideal go-to gi

We say that because of how lightweight it is and how breathable the fabric is. If you live in a tropical country or tend to train or fight in warm weather, the Air lives up to its namesake because of how much more freedom you feel when moving around. You won’t be having any issues with how much more you’ll be sweating or overheating when training in hot weather with this Gi.

Also, unlike other lightweight Gi, the Air is extremely durable, with additional reinforced stitches in high-stress areas and seams, including the knees.

The only issue we see with the Air is sizing, as it’s been criticized as either being too tight or too loose but never really fitting enough. However, if you can look past this “small” issue or find a way around it, the Air is very much a great Gi.

  • Attractive pricing
  • Lightweight
  • Breathable fabric
  • Fit issues

Gameness claims that the Air is the lightest Gi in the world. Although we won’t hold them to their claim, we do agree that it is very lightweight.

We also believe that this Gi carries some of the best value at its price point. Good luck finding anything that’s as durable and as lightweight as the Air at the same price point!

Lightweight, affordable, and breathable, the Air is easily one of the most comfortable gis available on the market.
