Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 Premier Brazilian Jiu Jitsu BJJ Gi Review

Tatami is back with their signature gi, the Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0. Estilo is the flagship gi of Tatami and is their longest running collection. For six years, they have been improving and developing this gi and have come out with their latest design, the Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0.

They believe that it is the highest quality, visually appealing and well priced gi on the market. Tatami has been working on improvements with the help of top BJJ athletes like JT Torres and Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro.

The Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 has seemed to top the past generations of Estilo gis. Let's take a look at the features of Tatami’s signature gi and see why it may be their best one yet.

Technical Features Summary

  • 550GSM Pearl Weave Jacket
  • 12oz Canvas Pants
  • Printed Jaquard Drawstring
  • Inside Sublimated Neck Lining
  • Woven Tape Lining Cuffs and Pant Legs
  • New Unique Y-Jacket Ventilation

Material Features

The Jacket is made of 550GSM Pearl Weave, which is a higher grade than most other brands that use 350GSM. Tatami’s cheaper gis are made with 250-350GSM weaves, which is why the Estilo 6.0 is their most expensive.

The pants of the Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 are also made of a more sturdy canvas material. These pants are the most durable Tatami makes and only coming in at just 12 ounces.

The Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 drawstring is printed jaquard material. This is the same material used in higher end hoodies and shorts that won’t fray for a long time.

Tatami Estilo 6 Gi Top

Tatami made the Estilo 6.0 with a new unique Y jacket vent. This new design is supposed to prevent you from getting overheated when training letting more air flow through it.

They also provided extra support with a sublimated neck lining, woven tape lining cuffs/ankles, and base of the jacket. This was to make sure the Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 is going to last you for years.

This gi’s material is top quality that you can use for a long time for training or in competitions. You will definitely get a lot of use out of this gi before it starts wearing out.

Another good thing about how they designed the gi is that it leaves room or patches. It is very clean looking without patches, but you have space if you want to put on your school’s logo.

The Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 is a very sleek looking gi and the logos aren’t overbearing on the design. This gi also comes in six colors, each with a stylistic clean cut look.

PROS

  • Durable and Extremely Sturdy Material

CONS

  • Slightly Heavier Jacket

We all know that there are some people that have issues finding gis that fit right. With the Tatami Fightwear Estilo 6.0 it shouldn’t be a problem.

They offer the Estilo 6.0 in 10 different sizes for all types of people that train. There are very few gi brands that offer as many size options as Tatami does with this gi.

Tatami also built this Gi to last. The extra support they added to the ankles, cufflinks, and gi interior will keep it from wearing out for a long time.

It is also a great looking Gi that is IBJJF approved. Multiple time world champion JT Torres has worn Tatami’s Estilo Gi's multiple times during competitions.

This gi may only have a few drawbacks for some users. The jacket is slightly heavier than their other models and it could get uncomfortable training during warmer seasons.

There were also a few complaints online that people received the wrong sizes or stain marks from shipping. These are however are errors and shipping and don’t reflect on the quality of the Gi.
